Hi, I’m Louisa and I run Kit 4 Kiddies that specialises in nursing covers.
When did you start your small business and why?
I started my small business making handmade nursing covers around nine months ago after attending the 2017 Bump to Baby show. At the last show I had my little one that wasn’t very old and wanted feeding, others said how much they loved the nursing cover I made for myself and that’s where it all began.
Tell us about your most memorable or greatest achievement so far:
My greatest achievement is balancing baby and business life, both have been and still are an exciting achievement
Who is your biggest influence or role model?
My biggest influence is my husband and little one, without either of them I wouldn’t be able to make the covers or think of the handy things that’s needed with a little one.
What do you hope to bring to Dorset Bump to Baby Show 2018?
I hope to bring to the Dorset Bump to Baby show a product that provides mums comfort when feeding out in public. For myself the cover still works wonders.
What’s next for Kit 4 Kiddies?
Next on the list for Kit 4 Kiddies is to diversify into other handmade products when its comes to feeding.
If you could give one piece of advice for a new mum what would it be?
My one piece of advice for new mothers is to enjoy everyday no matter how difficult they can sometimes be because that’s what makes the memories and funny moments when reflecting back. It’s a journey that both you and your baby are going on together.
Just for fun...
City or countryside? DEFINITELY CITY! Although it can be nice to escape to the countryside – just not longer than a weekend!
Bump or Baby? Both are just as fun as each other so I don’t think I can pick.
Chocolate or chia seeds? Got to be chocolate – it makes everything better.
Mumpreneur or woman in business? Mumpreneur for sure - its a juggling act between the two that sums me up.
Tea or Coffee? Coffee – without sometimes I wouldn’t feel human.
Reading a book or watching a film? Watching a film – but if a book is a film them both but always the film first as it can be a letdown for the book.
Obsessively Tidy or Organised Chaos? Both for sure, the house is tidy but the cupboards are chaos.
